Your Funny Faces Page

This is a page I did for Scrapbook Art as a sample. I thought these pictures were really funny, one night while I was in The Gambia the electric was out (like a lot of nights there) so for entertainment we all started making crazy faces and dressing up as funny people. I love how no matter where you go kids are the same, carefree & fun...

Materials Used:

-White Cardstock

-Your Funny faces title

-Black Ink

-Adornit Photo Girl

-Buttons

**I ink all edges with a black ink

Page 1: On the Left
-White cardstock is background

-Take the pattern paper and cut the stripe strip out of the paper, then cut it in half (horizontally, giving you 2 long strips) & trim off 1 inch in length so the strip is approx 1" tall by 11" wide & corner round the left edge, adhere 1/4 from the bottom of the page
-Then take the pattern paper and cut the strip with the words all over it and then cut that in half (also horizontally) and adhere above the stripe strip
-Next take a white cardstock and cut it 10x8 and corner round the 2 left edges, adhere overlapping the word strip 1"
-Then cut out the scallop strip, cut it in half and adhere 1 half toward the right side of your page
-Then cut extra paper you have left from the pattern paper and cut (6) 2x2 squares, adhere toward the left of the page 1/4" from the edge starting above the word strip and going around the white mat until you get to the scallop pattern
-Adhere 3 buttons over the scallop pattern and squares
-Adhere "your funny faces" title toward the bottom left



Page 2: On the Right
-White cardstock is background
-Adhere the stripe strip and the word strip matched up with the page on the left
-Take your white cardstock and cut 8x6 rounding the corners on the right side.
-Match the other half of your scallop pattern and adhere matched with the scallop pattern on the left page
-Cut a small strip of the camera strip and adhere to the left of your white cardstock photo math 4" above the word strip
-Adhere 3 buttons to the right of the white photo mat above the word strip paper

Moxxie Softball Layout

I used a line by Moxxie to create this page sample for Scrapbook Art.

Materials Used:
Bazzill Cardstock-Tan & Black
Moxxie-Girls Rule paper
Moxxie-I heart softball paper
Moxxie-Softball paper
Tim Holtz Distressed Crackle Paint
Black Ink
Green frilly ribbon
Tim Holtz Edge Distresser
Ek Success-Scallop edge punch

Instructions: **I distressed all edges is tim holts edge distresser and inked with black ink

Page 1: On the left
*Tan cardstock is background
*Take the crackle paint and paint around the top left and bottom edges
*Cut out the "Softball" title from the I heart softball paper & adhere at the bottom of your page
*Cut a 6" circle from the girls rule paper & a 6" circle ring from the softball paper, adhere centered with the ring on the upper right and circle on the lower left
*Cut the I heart softball paper 2x10, corner round the 2 bottom edges, and adhere 1" above the bottom part of the circle toward the right side of the page stripe side up
*Then take the green frilly ribbon and adhere above the stripe strip
*Cut (2) 3 1/2x5 photo mats out of black cardstock, corner round the edges and adhere 1 vertically and 1 horizontally above the ribbon

Page 2: On the right
*Tan cardstock is background
*Cut softball paper 3x11, corner round the lower right corner and adhere 2.5" from the bottom toward the right
*Then cut a 4" circle out of softball paper, adhere overlapping the strip paper.
*Next cut a 6" circle out of girls rule paper, adhere toward right side of the page above the swirl strip.
*Cut (3) 3.5x5 photo mats out of black cardstock and adhere toward left in the center of the page (corner rounf the top and bottom of the far right photo mat)
* Then cut a 1x9 strip from I heart softball paper and use scallop edge punch to make a scallop edge along the bottom. Adhere above photo mats

My Minds Eye Sketch Challenge July

My Minds Eye has a sketch contest every month, this is my entry for the July sketch. All papers I used were from a 6x6 paper pad.

Materials Used:

My Minds Eye- Lime Twist "Lifes a party" line (6x6 pad)

Bazzill Cardstock-white and green

Kaisercraft-brown bling

Ek Success-Butterfly punch

Ek Success-Scallop edge punch

Black Ink

Instructions:

*White Cardstock is background

*Take the 3 pattern papers from the 6x6 pad and cut each patters so you have (2)1.5x6 & (2)1.5x4 strips, adhere on of the 1.5x6 patterns 1" from the top, then adhere the same exact pattern of the 1.5x4 directly below it so it looks like 1 long strip, repeat with other patterns. I corner rounded the corners of the outside patterns & inked with a black ink along all the outside edges

*Cut green cadstock 6x8, corner round the edges and adhere toward the top right patterns
*Take out the brown polka dot pattern paper and cut a 1x6 strip and 1x3 strip, use scallop edge punch to add a decorative edge to the strips. Then adhere the 1x6 strip 1/4 up from the bottom of the green cardstock and to the right edge of the pattern paper. Then adhere the the other strip to the left of it so it looks like 1 long strip

*Take butterfly punches and punch out with the remaining patterns butterflies, after adhered put the kaisercraft brown bling along the center of each butterfly.

*Take the rest of your brown bling and outline the bottom and right side of your pattern strips

Creative Imaginations Disney Page

*Yellow Cardstock is background
*Trim the stripe strip off Magic Memories page and adhere vertically at the right side of your page
*Cut (3) 4x6 photo mats out of white cardstock, adhere all 3 to the left of your stripe strip
*Trim the grey strip with white words off Magic Memories page and adhere to the left of your 3 photo mats
*Cut Silly circles paper 10x3, corner round the 2 left edges and adhere centered to the left of your grey strip
*Cut out the journaling square with the circles & mickey hand in the corners then cut that in half, corner round the 2 left edges and adhere to the left of your silly circles paper
*Pop dot the mickey head above the journaling strip, to the left of silly circle paper


Page 2: On the Right
*Yellow cardstock is background
*Cut the silly circle paper 10x9, corner round the 2 right edges and adhere centered to the left side of your page
*On the opposite side of the magic memories page there are words all over it, cut (3) 1x12 strips and adhere words side up 1/2" from the bottom of the silly circles paper
*Cut 2 more 4x6 photo mats out of white cardstock, corner round the top right of 1 photo mat and the top left of the other photo mat.
*Adhere the photo mat with the top left corner rounded in the center of the middle 1x12 strips toward the left of the page, then adhere the other photo mat to the right of it.
*Pop dot the mickey head to the right of your photo mats above the strips
*Cut out the "Caution: Crazy Rides" embellishment from the magic memories sheet and adhere below the mickey head

American Crafts Page Layout

This is a page I made from when I was in The Gambia, West Africa at the monkey park (Bijilo Froest), the American Crafts Campy Trails line fit it perfectly!!

Punky Sprouts Sketch Contest

Here is another entry into the Pagemaps Blog contest, I love doing their contests because they always have such great sketches and there is a dead line so I feel like I HAVE to get it done.. no delaying! Plus it is not a specific company so I can feel free to use any paper line I have at home and not worry about mixing companies products. It's fun, you all should do it too ;)

Bobunny Zoology Layout

Below is a page I designed for Scrapbook Art as a sample using the Bobunny Zoology line. All papers and embelishments for this line can be purchased at Scrapbook Art. I love everything about this line, the colors, the design, EVERYTHING! The papers are great for zoo, safari parks (like The Wilds) and Animal Kingdom at Disney World =)





Materials Used:
-Tan & Green Bazzill Cardstock (I forgot to write the colors down, I will update with exact colors sometime next week)

Instructions:

Page 1: On the Left
-Tan Cardstock is background
-Take your Zoology Safari Diecut paper and trim off 3", Adhere the larger side to the right side of your tan cardstock
-Then take the Zoology paper and cut around the entire left side cutting around the leaves and tiger, adhere this to the left side of your page slightly overlapping you Diecut paper.
-Next take your green cardstock and cut (2) 4x6 photo mats, I corner rounded the corner of the 1 photo mat on the lower left side, adhere mats in the center of your diecut paper
-Take the Daisy punch and punch out 2 daisies, then overlap them and adhere together, then adhere your flower to the top left corner of the left photo mat.
-After that take the Zoology Buttons and adhere the floral button onto the flower and then adhere a small black button on top of the floral button.

Page 2: On the Right
-Tan cardstock is background
-Take the green cardstock and cut (3) 4x4 photo mats and (1) 4x6 photo mat, (I corner rounded all outer edges to the photo mats) adhere 2 of the 4x4 photo mats 1" from the top & centered, then adhere the other 4x4 & 4x6 photo mat below that and centered.
-Next take the 3" that you cut off the zoology diecut sheet and adhere to the left side of your page, overlapping photo mats.
-Then take the Zoology paper and cut around the leaves on the top right side of that paper, adhere to the top right side of your tan cardstock overlapping the photo mats
-After that take the Zoology cut outs paper and trim the (3) 12" strips off and adhere 1" from the bottom of the page
-Then cut the journaling "monkey business" out and adhere to the left side on top of the 12" strips.
-Next punch out 2 more daisies, overlap them and adhere to the right of your journaling piece. Adhere orange bling in the center of the flower

We R Layout

Here is a layout I made using the We R Memory Keepers White Out Collection.

I love to cut out my pattern paper, especially if there is a lager pattern on the paper to separate it and make it spread across a 2 page layout. I jazzed the pattern paper up by adding buttons and stickles!

Design Team Announcement

I am happy to announce that I will now be designing for Scrapbook Art in Lewis Center, Ohio. (For directions to their store click on their name and then click on the directions tab) As of right now their doors are closed and the store is being remodeled under new ownership but they will reopen on Saturday, July 30th, 2011.

I will be on their design team and for me that means I will be designing page samples throughout the store as well as designing page kits to be sold in their store. All page samples I do for Scrapbook Art will be posted to my blog along with detailed instructions so you can easily purchase the product there and copy the layout without having to do any guess work =). All page kits will be posted to my blog so you can see what I have made and then go into Scrapbook Art and pick up a kit or call them to have them hold it or ship it to you. All posts that include work for Scrapbook Art weather it be samples or kits will be clearly labeled as work I have done for them.

I am currently in the middle of 6 different projects for Scrapbook Art so stay tuned for these updates!

MME Page Layout!!

Below is a page I created using the Stella & Rose collection from My Minds Eye.

*I cut 3x3 squares out of the pattern paper and rounded all the edges

*Of the paper remaining for the large circle scallop pattern I cut out the flower designs and layered them on top of each other and used them as embellishments
