Day In Photos: A Day At The Museum

On Saturday Baz and I made a trip to the Columbus Art Museum, I had not been there since an art class in high school and this was going to be Baz's first trip! The Museum has changed sooo much since the last time I was there, it was amazing-- it was so much more interactive than I remember.

Me in the Western Room-- This is one of the interactive part, almost every room seemed to have one! Here in the Western Room they as you to write what represents the west to you, some people drew images, my favorite was the mustache! LOL.

Baz and I both agreed that this was one of our favorite pieces! If you look closely there are several actual pictures throughout the artwork and the artist drew an extension and made all the pictures come together <3


And here is my FAVORITE interactive piece-- this is the Peace Tree, you write down your wish for peace and what you would like to see.



And here is Baz writing down his wish--- In this room they also had a booth where you could video record you talking about how war or images of war has effected your life, they continuously play the video in that room... That was Baz's favorite interactive piece, but unfortunately it was not recording at the moment. {He was so disappointed}

After the Art Museum we did some driving downtown and found (ok, I had seen it before, but Baz had not) Columbus, Ohio's Eiffel Tower =)

Happy Monday! I had a wonderful weekend, on Saturday I spent a few hours at the Columbus Art Museum with Baz {the boyfriend} he happen to have a couple of tickets to get us in for free--- added bonus! It has been far too many years since I have last been there and I must say it changed a lot and in a more fun interactive way =) Each room had something for you to participate in {errrr... I could talk a lot about it... maybe I will do a in detail with photo post tomorrow}. Then later that night I made a stop over to one of my Besties house, Tiffany Henderson to surprise her with a birthday cake! It was a delicious Strawberry Passion Ice cream cake from Coldstone YUMMO! Annnnnd Sunday was my day of relaxation, I caught up on all of the tv shows I missed last week and did a little scrappin' =)

Now, onto the layout :) Today I am showing ya another layout using Kaisercraft's Bubblegum Hill line:

Kaiser Craft Bubblegum Hills Layout

Good Morning and Happy Humpday Everybody! Today I am sharing with you a layout I made using KaiserCraft Bubblegum Hills Collection, I love this line.. all the bright colors and pretty patterns and butterflies! Oh, how I LOVE butterflies <3


One of my favorite things to do lately has been to outline certain parts of my page using bling, I had been using TONS of rhinestone strips.... that is until it finally hit me! Duh Ashley, use liquid pearls or stickles and simply make dots to appear! Why had I not thought of this before??? Well, finally I did discover this and I am taking full advantage! In the page above I outlined edges of the top and right side using my Bisque Liquid Pearls, but of course I could not go without adding some other blings as well to bump up my bling factor ;)

Today I have a layout to share =) I know it is sooooo hard to find good boy pages/lines out there but Best Creations has a perfect line for you all with boys, "Robot"!! {okay, and I have to say, I dont have a boy to use this layout on but this layout is also perfect for, and will be used by me for Tomorrowland at Disney World!!}

Scrapbook Sketch & Disney Layout

In just a little over a month the sketches idea book will be released!! I feel like time has been flying by so fast these last few months, it has been a crazy, fun, exciting journey! DIY Friday #12: Flower Video Tutorial!

Happy Friday Everybody! I am so excited that it is fiiiiinally Friday, I have been looking forward all week to a crop that I am going to on Saturday & now it's only a day away!! YAY! So, today I thought I would switch it up a bit for DIY Friday and instead of sharing photo's and instructions I have a video for you! I was browsing youtube and came across this one and thought it would be a great share for DIY Friday, Enjoy!

NEW!! Sketch Club

I am excited to announce I have partnered up with Pizazz It! Scrapbooks, (their website will be up and running again soon!!) an online scrapbook store to host a Sketch Club! The Sketch Club will include five new sketches each month for 12x12 pages designed by Ashley Rock. Four of the sketches will be exclusive to this kit and one will be a featured sketch with a special opportunity! You will also receive hot & new on the market pattern papers, plenty of cardstock and embellishments. Sketch Of The Month: February 2012

It's February, the month of love! I made this months sketch with hearts to coordinate with the love theme. I recently made a page that was themed "I love being an Aunt" using Pebbles Inc paper "With Love" line. Sometimes it is easy to get stuck with a boxed idea with holiday papers and using them for what we grew up knowing what the holiday is known for. With Valentines Day it is easy to get stuck thinking it's needed to be used with love for a significant other, but that is so not the case =) Valentine papers are also great to use for love for our children, parents, pets and can even be used for our electronics {we all love our little devices!} so be sure to think outside the box as well!
