Echo Park: Homemade Card

Yay! I am able to post agian! I am not sure why, but since last Friday, an ENTIRE week, I have not been able to upload any pictures onto blogger. It was killing me to not be able to post my projects but luckily the problem was fixed and now I have plenty of posts to prepare =)

Today I am sharing with you a card that I made for Cord Scrapbook Studio using the fabulous Echo Park "Home made" collection.

Fonts, Fonts, Fonts!

Exciting stuff is happening once again! Those of you who used to take Rebecca's classes at Pizazz It! Scrapbooks and marvel at her ever fabulous hand writing (yes, yes, we are all sooo jealous!), well, now you can own it! Say whaaaaaaaat? Yup! Pizazz It! Scrapbooks is officially selling Rebecca's hand writing as a font so now you can have her beautiful handwriting in your album. =)

Of course that is not all that Pizazz It! is up to, if you have ever dreamed of having your own hand writing as a font now you can! We've always said how important it is to have at least a little of your own hand writing in your albums to pass down for generations but if your anything like me, it's just easier to type it out rather than try to perfect my own hand writing every time, so I am really excited for this because it definitely is the best of both worlds!

Echo Park: Homemade Layout

Mornin', today I have a double page layout that I designed for Cord Scrapbook Studio using Echo Park's "Homemade" collection. 

This is yet another layout that I made from my last trip to The Gambia--- I think I may be scrapping this trip FOREVER! Lol. The layout is of Baz's family's compound (home) where his mom, dad, brothers, sisters and many other cousins, aunts, uncles all live together. In the common area where everybody hangs out, does laundry and pretty much spends most of their time the ground has always been dirt which is standard for Gambian compounds, but Baz wanted to make it not only look much nicer but make it easier to keep everything clean (imagine all the dirt simply from all those people running in and out of the house all day!), so he had it tiled and boy did it turn out beautifully! It only took about 3 days to complete and their compound looks so different! Everybody loved it, it is a great feeling knowing that we were able to do this for his family and as time goes on hopefully we will still be able to help them out to improve their living standards, one step at a time.

Card Sketch: August 2012

We R Memory Keepers: Down On The Boardwalk Single Page Layout

Good morning! Today I have a layout to share that I made for Cord Scrapbook Studio, using the We R Memory Keepers "Down On The Boardwalk" Collection. 

Last year I started up cycling, I really like it......a lot! I am very fortunate in where I live, there is a bike trail less than a mile away from my house and it is part of a major plan that the city of Columbus has to connect several bike paths so it would be possible to bike entirely around the city of Columbus and further into some suburbs as well as attach to other major cities. Connecting the paths will likely take several years but the one near where I live has extended a lot since I first began cycling. When I first started the path was just 5 miles one way, now it goes as long as 20 miles one way. It is a really nice, beautiful, paved path and it is so close to home, can't ask for anything better than that!

Imaginisce: Hello Cupcake Card

On Tuesday I shared with you a layout that I made using the Imaginisce "Hello Cupcake" collection, today I have a card to share with you using the same line, this card is also a project that I designed for Cord Scrapbook Studio as well.

I used the 6x6 paper pad to create this card, as I mentioned on Tuesday as well, the 6x6 papers are great (especially for cards) because of the tighter patterns. I also love them because it is so easy to create multiple cards and not have a ton of paper left over that you are not sure what to do with.

Imaginisce: Hello Cupcake Layout

Today I am sharing a layout that I made for Cord Scrapbook Studio, using Imaginisce "Hello Cupcake" collection. This layout was made using the 6x6 paper pad, I love the 6x6 pads for the tighter design patterns, it makes it look great when wanting to cut strips here and there =)

This layout is of one of my best friends, Holly's daughter, Sophie! In April Sophie officially turned one and of course there was a big party full of friends and family to celebrate. Holly's little girls are like my own, I love them to death and I make sure I make the 30 minute trip to visit them at least once a week, so when Sophie turned one you know I was there to capture every moment. =). She was adorable and very shy with everyone around staring at her as she was served her cupcake, it took her a few mins but she eventually dug her hand in to the cupcake and began eating it. It amazes me just how fast time goes by, with Sophie now one and her older sister Lola, soon to turn five, I wonder when all this happened? Where did all that time go and how did I let it escape so fast?

With August here it feels as if Summer is almost over, though we do have a couple more months of good weather to come (hopefully!), but what better way to round up the summer before school starts that with a little party? I think this Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories is a great one to make up summer party invite cards, and they make it very simple with paper that is labeled with "Journaling Elements", the paper is pretty much already designed with an amazing pattern where all you have to do is cut it down and adhere it to the front of your card, just add a couple of embellishments and BAM, your done!

Sketch Of The Month: August 2012

Hello August! Where has the summer gone??

Since today is the first day in August, I of course have a brand new sketch to share with all of you =) August's sketch is a double page sketch and a great sketch to use for those smaller wallet size school photos that you always seem to collect every year at the beginning of the school year. Great for showing all the kids in your family's school pictures or one of your child and all of their friends pictures!
